Final Design Post

For this website I decided to keep the design simple and with all the photographs I gave them white edges to give them the look of Polaroids and to create more interest in the photos I gave them different placements and placed them on angles where I could. The problem solving for any of the issues encountered just involved trial and error and investigating the code, and a lot of time was spent in Dreamweaver and Fireworks fine-tuning the final design. I got feedback from the client that altered the design, and that was mainly just how he wanted certain pages, for the text to be larger and limited/no Flash.

Overall I am pleased with the final result, and hope the client approves. Designing this website has been great experience and I have learnt a lot.

Design changes

My design for the client site has changed many times during the development. The reasons for this include my client and my own satisfaction. Originally this is what the design was going to look like-


And then I changed it to this-

And now it is a different design again. A lot of time has been spent in Fireworks.

The constraints for the design were that I had to stick to a blue colour scheme for the client, and the client also didn't want much Flash. I am also still waiting for the photographs from my client which is also causing many problems for my design, as this is a photographers site. :/

Influences

During the initial development of my client site I looked at many other photography websites to see what was popular and to get some inspiration. There were several websites that influenced me and helped me with my concept development.

DNS

DNS's (Domain Name Servers) are a hierarchical naming system for computers, and internet resources. It identifies computer/computers on the internet. These names appear as a component of a web sites URL.

Top level domain names are for example- .com · .info · .net · .org · .pro .
